Mossley Orange Hall Dedication, 2009

Traditionally, when the 12th of July falls on a Sunday, the Orange Order refrain from holding the Annual Boyne Celebrations parade as a mark of respect for the Sabbath. On this occasion, the brethern of Carntall Mossley LOL 134 asked if we would be prepared to take part in a small parade around Mossley, prior to the dedication of their hall which had just recently been refurbished.

We decided to accept their kind invitation, and as we were marching through the streets of Mossley, our wives, girlfriends and other visiting guests remained back in the hotel in Belfast where they indulged in a traditional Sunday carvery.

At the end of the parade, the band members remained outside the hall, as the lodge members conducted a small ceremony, and we then joined them to watch an audio - visual demonstration, before refreshments and snacks were served.

The hall has been vastly improved, and is testament to the hard work and dedication of the members of this fine lodge whom we are proud to have been associated with since July 1991.

It would be less than 24 hours before we would once again be in the company of LOL 134, as we accompany them in the County Antrim local, district and main parades in Mossley, Glengormley and Larne respectively.
