The first engagement of the bands' four day trip to the Maiden City, is in the Fountain Estate, Londonderry.
As a result of a C.D. recording the band made in 2004, comprising of and commemorating the music composed by William Love, our Band master with the assistance of Billy Moore, from the Maiden City Festival Committee and A.B.O.D managed to arrange the mounting of a plaque to commemorate the contribution and legacy of music given to the band world by William Love.
Black Skull had the great honour of dedicating the plaque in Wapping Lane, at the spot where William Love lived and composed
most of his music. Attending the dedication was the nephew of William Love , along with Roy Arbuckle
who thanked the band for attending the dedication, and for the contribution to keeping the memory of William Love and his music alive for future genarations. The bands' conductor, William Young thanked the many people who turned out to view the unveiling and dedication of the plaque before the band played " Nearer my God " and " Senior Service ", before marching off to more William Love compostitions on the way to the Memorial Hall to perform the tribute concert.
